Maintaining an espresso machine can not only extend the life of the machine but also provide more consistent and flavorful espresso. One of the most common ways of cleaning the screen and group head is to backflush the machine with a small amount of cleaner. In order to perform this cleaning you will need a blind filter or backflush insert for the portafilter. Backflush cleaning is recommended for commercial espresso machines with a three-way valve.
